What is going on??!!

Ville Voice reporting that Angels Rock Bar and Mosaic Nightclub might be closed. 4SL seems to be having a very volatile last several months. Anyone confirm?

Jim Beam offices are taking over the space above Gordon Biersch and the Mosaic space. Angels has shut down and Cordish is going to re-brand it and reopen in a couple of months. Mozzaria has new ownership and will reopen as Quattro in a couple of months.

There are rumors that Cordish might reopen the Pub, possibly under a modified name, but with the same menu while relieving The Tavern Group of their debt.

I thought Quattro was already open.

That said, turbulence between Muhammad Ali and Liberty on 4th? Get out.

It's only going to get worse. The block north of 4SL is already very successful, and the blocks south are slated for redevelopment soon. When 4SL went in, it was just about the only place downtown with any traffic and so Cordish could get away with ridiculous rents, fees, and lease terms. The more alternatives there are, the less power Cordish will have to do that.

For as much money as the city seems to have put into that place you'd think they'd have stuff in there that showcased all the great local hospitality and restaurant talent...

That's what almost everyone here thinks but obviously Cordish doesn't make enough money doing it that way and the city administration bends over backwards to make Cordish happy!
