Top ten wishes for Louisville restaurants

Agree? Disagree? I'm kinda with #2 and #9. 9 for sure. Get an online presence that is practical. Update it. People use smart phones so much now it is only hurting you to not optimize for them. Just my thoughts. What do yous all think?

Cheers!

Definitely agree with #7. There are already some people doing a fine job of that but I would love to see it gain more acceptance.

Disagree on #2. The more the merrier. Sure that will mean more failures, but thats okay, without failure there is no success.

Agree on #9. And on that, if you are going to have an online wine list, have a beer list too. Actually, have them both. Period.

I'm behind #1 and #8. For God's sakes, stop with the pork belly and bacon! I used to believe the "everything's better with bacon" mantra until it started showing up in everything.

And I agree, good service is essential at any style of restaurant. Maybe it's a supply problem, only so many good servers to go around.

If Steve came up with #5 & #6 himself I say, "Amen, hallellujah and so help me God I'd support you for dictator for life". No irony or joking on the dictator thing. I dine out a lot less than I used to largely because I am so sick of the huge amounts of food. Any single food item (a meat, a bread or a vegetable for ex.) that is larger than would fit on my palm is just no longer appetizing to me. Mixed dishes like pastas and Asian stir fries would have me coming back often if they were served on a large saucer instead of the serving trays that are now "normal" dishes. If more restaurants get with that plan then it will start luring me back out of the kicthen at home where I can make small amounts of food for sane sized meals.
Death to large portions!

Never understood this complaint. Nobody is forcing the diner to consume the entire entree.

I like to think of myself as fairly in-shape(although maybe i'm viewing my beer gut through rose-colored glasses), and if I eat moderately and healthily throughout most of the week, and go out for lunch or dinner maybe twice in said week to splurge, I want to splurge damn it!

And to tell the truth, most of the time, I don't finish my entire entree. But then I have lunch for the next day, or depending on my alcohol intake, a snack for later that night.

Of course, I have no problem with people who want to eat smaller portions, but again, eat as much as you want, and I'll take care of the gluttony.
