What's good for Sunday brunch these days?

by Robin Garr » Fri Dec 28, 2012 9:00 am

Winter Sundays make me crave a quality brunch. Tell us about your favorites ... menu or buffet, either way!

We had a really good weekend brunch at the Garage Bar earlier this month. Hubby had the shaved country ham on toasted baguette and steel cut oatmeal son had the ham sandwich alone, well he had a beer so thick looked like he could eat it, I had the smoked salmon with creme cheese , capers and onions on a toasted bialy. Service was great, we were very happy.

My favorites as of late are Northend Cafe, Silver Dollar, and La Gallo Rossa.

Brunch is easily my favorite meal of the week; though admittedly I'm a after-noon brunch goer. For my dollar the best three spots in town for it are bank street, silver dollar, and eiderdown.

Selena's has an awesome brunch menu served both Saturday & Sunday! Eggs Sardou is my favourite thing.

It's nice..she has an assortment of egg dishes from specialty omlettes to prepared how you like them. There are flavored pancakes, French toast, and grits . She serves her lunch menu as well; so, you can order pasta favorites. Last Sunday was my first time...but, my 2 guests and enjoyed it.

Suzi and I really like to go to Bank Street Brew House the first Sunday of the month. Roger puts on the spread. Omelet station AND they do Prime Rib. Nothing overly fancy but both are just awesome. Don't hold me to these numbers but I think it is 15/16 USD for both, and you can order off the regular menu.

Additionally, they have this stunning 1000 foot Bloody Mary Bar... ok ok... probably 10 feet but it is magnificent.

Folks, let make sure you understand, this is New Albany, IN. A progressive state directly North of Kentucky that in fact does not kick ass on Sundays because you can't purchase alcohol until after church services are over at 1PM. But, at BSBH/NABC you can have your Bloody Mary or any of his fine locally crafted beers at 10 AM when he opens. Kentucky has bridled spirits. (See what I did there)

Highly recommended. We'll probably be there on the 6th when they open. Would be nice to have any/all of you all join us, for a great Brunch. Send a message so if it gets big I can call and reserve a table.

Happy New Year to all you all.

Definitely our favourite and they're also going to be open for brunch at New Year's Day. The Bristol also has a nice Sunday brunch and Goose Creek Diner have a brunch buffet that's supposed to be very good (we haven't been yet) and probably is judging by the crowds.

That Place on Goss is great, too! Probably the best bargain ($10.95 for buffet, including beverage) and so far, the food has been great. Varied choices, both hot and cold food, omelets to order and fantastic desserts.
