AP Crafters...hoping Tony P sees this

by Derrick Dones » Sun Dec 09, 2012 11:44 pm

Had a very nice lunch at AP Crafters over the weekend. This is our 3rd or 4th time dining there, and each time I've walked away impressed. The food is very tasty and is definitely a notch above "pub grub." I focused on the beer list and they featured a nice range of craft brews from local and not-so-local brewers. The gastro pub title is very appropriate. I had the roasted pork sandwich this time, and it was excellent. The fries came out hot and well spiced. On other trips I have had the burger, and I rank it up there as one of the better burgers in Louisville. My wife had the grilled cheese and she loved it. The service was friendly and knowledgable. We will certainly be back in the near future.

I am hoping that Tony or someone else in the know can provide some info on one of AP Crafters beers. The Crafters Pale is a beer brewed locally, per our waitress, by BBC for AP Crafters. I really took a liking to this brew, and would love more of it! Ha. Please note, this is definitely not BBC's standard APA...I just finished a growler of that, and while I enjoyed it, I reallt like the Crafters Pale version. Is the beer exclusive to AP Crafters or is it something that I can pick up at a BBC? If so, what is the beer called at BBC? If not, can I get a growler filled at AP Crafters.

Thanks! DD

Westport Village. I think that Robin recently posted a review of it.

Derrick,

Thank you for your kind words. The Beer is BBC APA. We do not sell
Growlers at this time, though its something to think about.

Best,

Tony

Thanks Tony. The kudos directed to AP Crafters are well deserved. My family gets together for dinner once a week. The next time it is my turn to pick the place / treat, we are heading to AP's.

I am suprised that the Crafters Pale is BBC's standard APA. I just had a growler of it from Whole Foods, and what I tasted at AP's seemed different / slightly tastier. I guess I will write it up to different batches, more or less age on the barrels, etc.

I will continue to enjoy the Crafters Pale by the pint glass...or growler if you ever go that route.
