I took a drive and think that this should be our next event.
The Pop-Art Dinner would hit us at a wierd time- the holidays. I can push that one back- besides, I'll be Skyping on Tuesday to Peru to make BVS's event all that it can be.
Nothing worse than throwing a party nobody shows up to, and that would be a concern for me on that dinner.
People would be in the mood for this kind of event. Christmas Eve is a slower night, traditionally. So, execution wouldn't be a problem, I think. Seafood doesn't need resting- indeed it does better when served a la minute. So we're good there...
I have plenty of time to promote this event, which is good because I'm working up a rollout of the new white wine list and glass list. And the developmental needs of my child and my other child (the restaurant.)
Now, Seven courses can be problematic on the beverage side. I don't wan't anyone to get sloppy or feel like they are being underpoured, so I'll have to think that one over. I'm leaning towards a labor-heavy tasting style that overlaps the culinary courses. My bartenders will hate my guts, but they will get over it.

In my mind, I don't talk too much, on this event- but make myself available to address any questions. Just let the feast happen and let people enjoy each other's company.
Familly-style seating, but individualized plates. Except for the bread. We're not going to cut it- we will do that rustic- you will pull your bread from the loaf (a nice little nod to the old world.)
None of this is hard-set-in-stone, but we do have a winner, I think. Majid is going to love this idea. I'll keep you posted, mate)
