DH and I were making our way back from an out of town trip last Sunday, and I had a craving for salt and pepper shrimp (a very specific craving, I will grant you). The last time I'd had it was at the Forum Offline at the sorely-missed Red Pepper on Brownsboro Rd; and I'd never seen it since. A frantic google search via smartphone netted a hit on Jade Garden at Westport Village. In 10 years in Louisville, we'd never been, but now I had a Salt & Pepper Shrimp reason and I would not be denied! (well, hubby wisely agreed, anyway).
We were seated, given menus, and then I had the foodie equivalent of attention-deficit disorder as the dim sum cart swiftly moved by me (talk about being distracted by a bright & shiny object...). Realizing that DH and I were two of a minority of caucasian faces in the restaurant, I decided that at least a little sampling from the dim sum cart was in order....
No, this doesn't turn into an "I ordered so much I ended up having to wash dishes to pay my bill" story, but I did order enough to say - Jeez - how did I not know this was HERE?! Wonderful, comforting shrimp in rice noodles, mahogany glazed chicken feet, shark fin dumpling.... MMMMMMM..... AND, yes, I got my Salt & Pepper shrimp.
All in all, I have to say - I'm hooked! And, since I'd managed to miss this place after living here so long, I figured I needed to post in case others were in the same boat as I. I'm going back again next Sunday!
