Great creations at Coach Lamp

by Lisa Stephenson » Sun Oct 28, 2012 9:58 am

A new tide has evolved at Coach lamp restaurant, which I can remain silent about no longer!
Owner Bill Darling has taken over the kitchen and is doing a fabulous job! Yes, Chef Richard Lowe is no longer there.

Anyway, Bill still has an amazing creative touch! He offers one or two fresh fish specials a day along with other inspirations. For example, last night we enjoyed trout smothered in crayfish etoufee, chicken parmesan, chicken picatta, and veal picatta. Sides were sweet potato mash, parmesan potato mash, and asparagus. Everyone was more than happy...especially when the dessert appeared: bread pudding with warm caramel glaze accented with chocolate chips and marshmallows. OH MY!

Service is always superb and gracious, thanks to Ryan and support staff.
Thank you to Bill and his team for always making us feel welcome!

Bill's menu sounds great! Can't wait to get over and check it out!

Do you know, though, Lisa, if Richard is working somewhere else in town, or moved back to New Orleans or elsewhere?

Robin, I am not really sure what chef Richard's plans are and I don't think Bill knows either.

Nah, 751 Vine, north of Breckinridge, above East Broadway. Kind of where downtown meets Highlands meets Germantown.
