Lunch Break for Kids fundraiser at Taco Punk on Oct 29th

by Dan Thomas » Thu Oct 25, 2012 1:48 pm

As part of the American Culinary Federation(ACF)-Chef & Child Foundation's Lunch Break for Kids Challenge, next Monday, October 25th Taco Punk will be generously donating a portion of their sales to the Chef and Child Foundation as part of the ACF-KY Chapter's quest to be awarded a $10,000 grant as a participant in the challenge.

The Chef & Child Foundation (CCF) and the makers of Hidden Valley® Original Ranch® dressings & dips are partnering to host the second year of Lunch Break for Kids, a national fundraiser to highlight ways for parents and kids to come together with chefs and schools to learn more about how simple, good food can make healthier bodies and stronger family connections.
In its inaugural year, the Lunch Break for Kids (formerly Lunch Break for Schools) nationwide fundraiser featured nearly 70 chefs in 25 states. Funds raised were donated to the Chef & Child Foundation to create nutrition-based educational resources
The Chef & Child Foundation, thanks to a grant from the makers of Hidden Valley® Original Ranch® dressings & dips, is challenging ACF chapters to sign up and volunteer to host a Lunch Break for Kids Fundraiser and/or a Childhood Nutrition Day community event(s) during the month of October.
Participating chapters will have a chance to win $10,000 per region, to be awarded at the Regional Conferences.
In addition, the four winning regional chapters will compete for another $10,000 at the 2013 ACF National Convention in Las Vegas.
As the host chapter for the 2013 Southeast Regional Conference in March, we are seeking the communities help to make this fundraiser a success as we would love to win this award in our hometown!
So come on out and ask your your friends to enjoy a delicious meal at Taco Punk next Monday for this worthy cause. :D :D

I would like to thank Gabe Sowder of Taco Punk for hosting the Lunch Break for Kids fundraiser. And also to everyone who came out and enjoyed their tasty offerings for this great cause! There were a lot of familiar faces there when I stopped by for lunch!

I would like to share the ACF KY Chapter's video submission that is part of the application for the award.
We had quite a busy month of Chef & Child activities! I would also like to thank all of the chefs and volunteers who assisted us with this endeavor.
