Bank Street Brewhouse program during Harvest Homecoming.

by Roger A. Baylor » Tue Oct 09, 2012 9:26 am

Those aware of the Harvest Homecoming's downtown New Albany influx each October will understand why we always do things differently during this time, and go with the flow rather than attempt the normal routine. While Harvest Homecoming percolates a short block south, Bank Street Brewhouse offers our own Fringe Fest from Thursday through Saturday (Oct 11-13).

For the first time since Fringe Fest began five years ago, we'll be able to integrate Bank Street Brewhouse's newly approved and evolving beer garden with the remainder of the building, which should make for a more enjoyable experience. There'll be art booths during the day, music in the evening, special NABC beers on tap, and a Fringe Fest food menu prepared by Matt Weirich, Bernie Collier and the kitchen staff. Follow the links for further information, and thanks as always for the opportunity to post here.

Hey Roger,
I'm really looking forward to this years version of Wet Knob. I was wondering if the extreme summer had any effect on the hops?

Also, Matt's festival menu looks sooo good! I'll be having some of those duck fat frites and maybe some chili. I will be in Thursday evening and hopefully again on Sunday. Will Sunday be back to normal ops?

Cheers!

Brewer Ben told me last night that Wet Knob was different than last year; we had to source at more than one place because our primary supplier's crop didn't do well. We'll see on Thursday (me, too). Yes, normal ops resume on Sunday with brunch.

Stopped into Bank St tonight from 4:45 to 8:00. The garage doors were up and the beer was flowing. Not crowded in the bar but things got interesting when the band started. Everything from Weezer (thanks Justin) to the Eagles, Dire Straits, and Three Doors Down made for an interesting mix. The Strassen Bräu turned out to be my favorite for the evening. It went great with the duck fat frites and some kick ass chili provide by Chef Matt Weirich and company. Cheers!

Get off my lawn gets my pick for best beer of the night.

You are 100% right; the chili and fries were outstanding.

Thanks for coming in. Get Off My Lawn is excellent; perhaps we can source the hops necessary to make it more often.

I avoided the HH Fest on Friday by going to Richo's to get a growler of the Community Dark that my niece requested for an out of town party and picked up an extra growler of the Get Off My Lawn after sampling it - it was a huge hit. Well done, David.

I miss BSB. I look forward to going there in December.
Thinks the frosty mug is the low point in American history.

I hope you'll let us know when you'll be at the BSB Matt so we can catch up. I'm sure others would like a chance to hear how things are going up there in Yankee land.

I know the first round will be on me and if there are enough rounds perhaps we'll serenade that lovely red head of yours with a rendition of "Sweet Caroline." If she's not there we'll do it anyway in hopes for better days for our Red Sox! Cheers Matt
