New Restaurant on Hurstbourne

by Rick G » Mon Oct 08, 2012 8:06 pm

If you have passed the old Max & Erma's on South Hurstbourne within the past few days you should have seen a lot of activity going on there. Cattleman's Roadhouse, which has restaurants in Shelbyville, Frankfort and Shepardsville is opening their fourth restaurant in this location. They are shooting for a December 1st opening. You can see what they're are all about on their website at http://www.cattlemansroadhouse.com

Bill Hisle is the owner, a real stand-up man and long-time Louisville area restauranteur. He's earned his success with a hard working staff, and he should do very well here.

I have been to the Shelbyville location a number of times. Food and service always good. Moderate price and excellent value.

Should compete well in the mid level steak house style. Owners Bill Hisle and Stuart Meredith are both longtime restaurant people as Jackie mentioned.

Where was the Max and Erma's on South Hurstbourne? I am seldom on any part of Hurstbourne and can't picture that location. Just curious. Thanks.

It's on South Hurstbourne past the Stonybrook theaters on the left as you're heading towards Bardstown road in the curve. It's in the same group of stores as the Lazy Boy showroom.

This is great news! Bill and Stuart have been doing an incredible job with Cattleman's. The one in Shelbyville is great and we almost always eat there when traveling that way! Nice to have them closer to home!

Count me as another Louisvillian who will be happy to have a Cattleman's closer than Shelbyville. The first time I ate there, I expected cheap, chain steakhouse, but I was pleasantly surprised. Good food, good service, reasonable pricing. It should do well.

We love Cattleman's in Shepardsville pretty much our go to place if we are out that way and we don't want Mexican other wise it is El Tarasco our other favorite Shepardsville place. Both have been our Bullitt County secrets :)
