"The Dearly Departed"- Louisville Eats, 2012/2013

by MarieP » Fri Sep 28, 2012 3:22 pm

"We can't expound on our current flourishing restaurant scene without paying homage to some of those that came before. These much-missed establishments (and many more not listed) laid the groundwork for the greatness that is now."

22 restaurants, 7 photos (including the Luau Room, Hasenour's, Colonnade)

I've been to 16 of the 22...including Fresher Cooker, at which I ate a salad and people were amazed at a toddler who loved her veggies!

Very surprised they didn't include Melrose Inn, Hoe Kow, Zephyr Cove, Masterson's, or Cafe Kiliamanjaro! They did include all the Grisanti's.

Can't find it outline, but it's worth finding a magazine, for this and the new restaurants article (that BLPT at Joe Davola's DOES sound good!)

What is "Louisville Eats," Marie? I'd like to have a look, but the name's not ringing a bell. It's not that Food & Dining mag, is it?

Now, I must say that I found it interesting that such notables as Pryor's and the Canery Cottage were not mentioned.....

Oh, and Bauer's as well.

However, they have been departed, but not forgotten, for many years.
If life's a Banquet, what's with all the Tofu?

Cheers!
