Funk Night at The Charlestown Pizza Company

by Shawn Vest » Sun Sep 16, 2012 3:34 am

The Charlestown Pizza Company will be hosting a couple of special events during Louisville's Craft Beer Week. (http://louisvillebeer.com/calendar/)

First, we'll be honoring a fallen friend with a special release of five gallons of Hardcore Gore from The New Albanian Brewing Company.
Jason Gore was a long time employee of the Grantline Road NABC and we're once again honored to host his friends and fans.
Hardcore Gore is released at the NABC on his birthday every year and we're lucky to receive a few gallons to celebrate him on the anniversary of his departure from the planet.
The keg will be tapped around 5 PM on Sunday September 23rd and will only last for short while.

Tuesday September 26th, 5 PM
Funk Night at the CPC !!!

We're celebrating the funky & the sour with a huge selection of beers seldom seen in the same room together.
We'll be pouring 10 ounce glasses of some of the most unique funky beers that I have been able to round up.
Starlight Distribution deserves a special thanks for helping me put this list together.

Vapeur Saison de Pipaix 2003,
Vapeur De Bises,
Lindemans Cuvee Renee,
St. Louis Gueze Fond Tradition,
Cantillon: St. Lamvinus,
Cantillon Cuvee Saint-Gilloise,
Cantillon Classic Gueuze,
Cantillon Vigneronne,
Fantome Printemps
Fantome Chocolat,
Fantome Extra Sour
Drie Fonteinen Oude Geuze Golden Blend
Jolly Pumpkin Oro de Calabaza
Jolly Pumpkin Bam Biere
Jolly Pumpkin Bam Noire
Jolly Pumpkin Luciernaga
Boulevard Tank 7
Boulevard Saison Brett
Bell's Oarsman
Monks Cafe
Orval
Liefman's Goudenband
Bacchus
Lambickx Private Domaine 2010-2011
Lambrucha
Lambickx De Troch 2008
Against the Grain - TBA
ATG - TBA
New Albanian / Flat 12 Collaboration
Upland Lambic
Vacris Triple Gueze

There may be several more additions, depending on what arrives from the distributors in time for the event. I also have a few choice selections i'll be sharing from the beer cellar as well.

The supply of several selections is very limited. A few selections are 6 (750ml) bottles, which roughly equates to around 150 ounces of total beer.

If you're a fan of the funky and the sour and you know how to pronounce "Brettanomyces", then you should come out to the CPC and bring a designated driver.

Shawn,

That is one impressive lineup of Funk! Well done on accumulating those, I know how much time and effort goes into that.

One more beer added to the list via our friends at Upland Brewing Company.
Sour Reserve Second Batch, will be available in very limited quantities :)

This beer was released via lottery from the brewery, so we are very, very, very lucky to receive this Indiana Sour beer.

See you tonight
Shawn
