La Coop Bistro Forced Vacation

by Brett Davis » Fri Sep 14, 2012 5:37 pm

We unfortunately have to close La Coop for the weekend because our kitchen hood fan crapped out on us this morning. No ventilation means no fire thus no hot items. We considered opening with just cold appetizers but thought better of it. If we cannot provide the full La Coop experience, we will take our lumps and try to enjoy the weekend off. We are hopeful the new fan will be in by Tuesday so we can open back up that evening.

Because we have no choice but to put a taped sign on the door explaining this, I figured I better do my best to head off the rumor mill before it starts. We all know what most people assume when they see the proverbial 8 1/2" by 11" sign saying temporarily closed.

Brett, sorry to hear that. A lot of people are going to hate to hear this! I hope you get back up ASAP, though.

This headline will be on the HotBytes front page until other posts push it down, and I'll also Tweet it and pop it on Facebook, so we'll try to help you get the word around.

All done, and I also asked Laura Wallace to pass it to her social networks, so we're blasting this out to a pretty big crowd of local foodies.

I call for a outpouring of support for La Coop this coming week to help make up for the lost revenue of the weekend!

La Coop will be opening tonight for regular business. A good friend loaned us a hood fan to get us by until our new one is built, shipped and installed.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused and look forward to serving you in the future.
