Starlight Frozen Custard location

by Carla G » Fri Sep 14, 2012 2:30 pm

I saw where the Starlight Frozen Custard location in St. Matthews on Shelbyville Rd has been leased. Anyone know what it's going to be?

Found this article today regarding that location: http://www.bizjournals.com/louisville/news/2012/09/18/verizon-to-open-in-former-custard-shop.html?ed=2012-09-18&s=article_du

Certainly not a thrilling use of the building!

Only a few types of tenants can pay the type of rent desired by the landlord there. It would never work financially for most restaurants...

Just my two cents.

Man i miss starlight. Loved that place.

Used to get a strawberry banana concretes or sometimes they had key lime pie concretes and I would add strawberries to that. I liked that frozen custard better than any other ice cream in town including comfy cow and all the others.

That area is already a retail hell. One more phone store won't muck up what's already an ugly canvas.

Chillers is not a bad replacement, though! I have loved everything I've tried there. I think I will have to try peanut butter with banana and see how it compares to the peanut butter lustre (though I loved the real peanut butter in it) But only after I try the pumpkin roll sundae

Actually the phone store will probably have less traffic than the custard place did which will help traffic.

My use of "muck" wasn't in the context of traffic. It was more like that with all of the shopping, Shelbyville Rd is a bland eyesore. Such areas as do not distinguish Louisville from other homogenized retail metropolises in any other cities.
