Jeff Ruby does what he wants

Jeff Ruby in the news again. The man doesn't care, he does whatever he wants. I kind of like that about him.

This strikes me as Ruby engaging in self-promotion by inserting himself into this situation. It's kind of sad.

Strikes me as a man who stands up for his principles. I admire that.

How do you feel about the Grand Wizard of the Ku Klux Klan when he stands up for his? Just curious. I hear he's popular out in Garag ... aw, I just can't say it.

To me, it's like when the owner of an online casino buys a grilled cheese sandwich imprinted with the face of the Virgin May for $750,000. They don't do it because they're devout Catholics, they do it because newspapers around the country mention their name. I see Ruby doing the same thing except that it's at the expense of grieving families.

Wow Robin. I knew you were an out of touch left-wing extremist, but to infer Steve is a racist is out of line.

I don't know Steve and by his posts think we would disagree on many issues. But like real men, we would debate an issue over a smoker while getting drunk. This is in sharp contrast to your method of being a liberal pussy and inferring he is a racist over the internet.

This really pissed me off. You are such a judgmental, holy than thou asshole.

If I don't see an apology, then Its time to go to the Tribune and Leo and discuss how comfortable they are employing a food critic who makes money selling advertising to restaurants he reviews.

Well that escalated quickly. J, I think Robin was just messing with Steve. But your overreaction made me smile.

And Jeff Ruby is a tool. At least that seems to be the opinion of everyone I know who's ever worked there.

It doesn't make it ok to infer someone is racist, by adding a smiley face after your statement.

Gary Z hates Jews ,,,,, The smiley face doesn't make that absurd statement ok.

Anyone that has read Robin's posts on non-"who has the best tofu" issues knows there was an underlying intent to what he posted.

"And Jeff Ruby is a tool. At least that seems to be the opinion of everyone I know who's ever worked there." equals "Jeff Ruby has provided many of my friends with a job which allows them to pay for their rent, car loan, electric bill, gas bill, water bill, cable bill and groceries." :D :) :o  8) :?   :| :D :o  8)

In the same post you do three things which all contradict each other. You first say that Robin is a "judgmental, hol[ier] than thou asshole," which might I add is quite as uncalled for as you claim Robins' initial response to Steve. You then say that Robin is currently employed as a food critic, who is essentially a judge on restaurants and/or food service establishments and the food that they serve. Finally you threaten to contact Robins' employers, and attempt to get him into trouble or possibly released from his current position. If you claim that he is a judge, and he is employed as such, why would you threaten to release this judge from his post?

Anyways, the main point I am trying to make is that whether Robin was being entirely serious or not isn't the issue here. It may or not be appropriate for what he said to be said, but again that is not the issue either. This is indeed his own forum in which he is the moderator of. Since this is the case, he is indeed entitled to be "an out of touch left-wing extremist" or a "judgmental, hol[ier] than thou asshole."

Even still, whether or not Robin is entitled to say what he said or not is even yet again, not the issue here. The issue is that even if Robin was incorrect in his statement, you are even less correct by in return insulting him in his own house. This was a simple bicker (fun or serious) between Robin and Steve, in which Steve responded, until you stepped in.

It seems that J, who used to use Batman's "Joker" as her avatar, rarely posts unless there's an opportunity to stir things up. I do see some kinship with Steve in this regard.
