Trip report:Lil Cheezers

Wandered past it a couple times between hitting o'shea's and flanagan's, there seemed to be a light crowd there each time, couple tables outside, couple tables inside full. Finished up my drinks and walked over a shade before 9pm. Walked in and was greeted, although thankfully not in a "WELCOME TO MOE'S" style, from behind the counter. Checked out the menu and waffled for a bit between the Jive turkey(smoked gouda, roast turkey, some kind of roast pepper pesto) and huevos something(cheese of your choice, spicy chorizo and an egg). Bread choices are sourdough and wheatberry, there is a build your own option with a variety of cheeses, a variety of meats and some other toppings to go with. I ended up going with the turkey sandwich on wheat and a side of sweet potato fries.

Food comes up in maybe six or seven minutes, I wolfed down half the sandwich, nicely toasted, the pesto on it was solid, gave it a bit of a kick, the cheese kind of got lost a little though. The bread was tasty. I moved on to the sweet potato fries which had come with a curry ketchup. It had enough spice in it to give a decent contrast to the sweetness of the fries. Took a little more time to enjoy the second half of the sandwich. Everything was quite tasty.

I didn't see hours posted, but I could see them doing well off the lunch crowd and the bar crowd, the food was good and filling.

Ran me ten bucks for a sandwich, side of sweet potato fries and a fountain drink. Also they had some other apps that I didn't pay too much attention to since I was there for a sandwich.

Thanks for the feedback Josh. I am glad you had a good experience. I have an amazing staff so it has been relatively easy making sure things get done right as much as possible.

And thanks for the post Robin. Been trying to get on here to post it formally but things have been hectic.

Hours right now (and these may get tweaked a bit here and there) are as follows:
Sun-Wed 11am-midnight
Thurs 11am-2am
Fri and Sat 11am-5am

We may stay open later on Wednesdays, not sure yet.

We have updated the website http://www.lilcheezers.com has menu, hours, information and an online job application form. I am really happy with how the site came out, my web designer did an amazing job.

Right now we have also been running a lunch special. Half a sandwich and bowl of soup for $5 and that went over really well today.
We are also waiting for the paperwork back on our beer license, so fairly soon we should have canned and bottled beer.

Also Jamie's 14K Cupcakes are on the menu. They actually have been moving pretty well. Especially the vegan options. Speaking of vegan we still have vegan options available in the restaurant all the time. As long as we have the cheese.

We are still running the truck and have a second one on the way. Soon they will have regular schedules so you always know where they will be. Plus we have some new things happening in the downtown area. Once we have all the details together we will make a formal post on that.

So far everything has been going really well, no major issues at all. Customer feedback up to this point has all been positive and we are looking forward to being here a long time.

The one thing that has been the biggest thrill of all is being a part of the family of businesses on the 900 block of Baxter Ave. As a new guy in business the support and friendship these people have shown has been unbelievably insightful. I couldn't have asked for a better location.

Thanks again Robin. Look forward to seeing you again.

I hope you'll be able to keep the vegan cupcakes in stock! ;) Jamie's vegan cupcakes are the best I've had.

Looking forward to trying a vegan grilled cheese and some of those sweet potato fries and curry ketchup soon.
