Who has the Best "Fast Food" value menu?....

Let's see what every one will admit to eating when they get hungry while they're on the run...
I should have started a poll, but I feel most will be honest!
My vote is for Rally's... The most consistent cheap food with the best value!
BLT or a Chili Dog OR a Rallyburger with Cheese

Or Perhaps a Big Buford(2 for $3.00) what a bargain

My problem with Rally's is that I start to like one of their cheap items, and it goes kaput.

For some reason, I love $1 Chicken sandwiches, especially if spicy. My regular order when I go Mickey D's is a McChicken and Double Cheeseburger.

I have always liked Taco Bell food, but I would not call it fast food; anyone who calls Taco Bell fast food has obviously not used their drive-thrus. I like my Chili-Cheese Burritos (used to be called Chilitos until it was found out what that term is also slang for), Beef & Potato Burritos, and especially my Baja Blast MDs. Man, I wish they'd sell that drink at a store.

Yep, I did that for a couple of weeks also..When I got stuck getting on to I-65 south at Court Ave.
Mc D'S was the only option if I wanted a quick $2.00 snack.
While I waited in traffic to get on the Kennedy, in that one lane that goes to I-64 or I-71 while the I-65 south traffic screamed by at 70 miles an hour while I was sitting at a crawl while eating my Mc D's.....(8664 MY ASS). Any one who has ever or who currently lives in Southern Indiana should stand up and smack these ill conceived people in the head about tearing down several million dollars of infrastructure for 40 acres of green space( Wow I remember when crossing the bridge I saw a big junk pile)They want to put all the traffic in YOUR backyard for better or worse.

Sorry, I didn't mean to get on a rant there! (A touchy subject for me)

I also am a big fan of Culver's even though they don't offer a "value menu". Most everything that I have had from there has been fine.

I consider it the best of "Steak and Shake" spliced with "Frische's"

Ralley's has got to lead the pack for cheap fast food that's pretty decent. I'd catch myself dricing through when their fish sandwiches were on special (usually during lent) But if the criteria is price instead of just fast You can't beat El Nopal. I mean come on A stuffed poblamo pepper, rice or beans and a guacamole salad for $3.99! (Some locations have finally upped their price to $4.25) Everything is made from scratch and you eat on real plates with silverware.

On the way home last night I grabbed McDonald's. It's been at least a year since I've had anything from McD's, but i needed something fast and cheap, and convenient. McD's gets a lot of crap shoveled at them, and no it's not "good food", but it certainly has it's place.

I have to second El Nopal for really cheap good eats as well.
It's my favorite "mexican" place at the moment(ie..close to the house)

Gotta go with Panera Bread's "You Pick Two" deal...I also have to stop by Mickey D's anytime I see the Two Filet-O-Fish For Three Dollars banner...

Why Robin...Because It is fast it is cheap in price it is good and most of all people LIKE it...Thats why people eat at those places.

BZZZZZT! Sorry. Corporate industrial food, made in factories and prepped by semi-skilled, low-wage employees; high in fat, high in calories, high in sodium ... if you call that "good," you're on a different wavelength than I am.

and most of all people LIKE it...Thats why people eat at those places.

I nominate J. Gumbos in the fast food category. Yum. Cheap. Convenient (at least to me.)

We travel a lot. I can't bring myself to eat at mcdonalds or burger king or taco bell. For me, Chick Fil A is not even an upper eschelon, but an entire class above the normal choices. It's far too rare in my opinion. Usuallyif you are in the south, you can find one and if you're north you're out of luck.
Anyway, unless it's sunday (closed), that's my choice. And yes, I've cursed sundays more than I care to admit.

If we're talking about traveling there really aren't too many vegetarian friendly places to stop. I usually pack my own food for the "to" trip. If I can't get around to it or for the "from" trip, Subway is a decent alternative. They have a super cheap veggie sub and some kind of veggie patty sandwich as well.

I think Steak and Shake makes a grilled cheese. And Pizza Hut has a veggie personal pan pizza that's not bad. Cracker Barrel, while seldom fast, has a few veggie side dishes with no meat.

Of course, I'm only talking about those expressway exit moments when you've been in the car for hours.
