Dinner at 610 Magnolia

by Paul S » Sat Aug 04, 2012 6:40 pm

I had dinner at 610 Magnolia last night.

They sure have some interesting courses there; I'll share a couple we enjoyed.
-610 Charcuterie Plate w Braised Mustard Seeds w Frisee Nigella Seeds w Baby Beets w House Pickles
-Seared Scallops w Quinoa w Sunchoke Arugula w Carrot-Orange Puree w Orange Vinaigrette
-Lobster w Goat Cheese w Cherry Tomato on Watermelon Compress

The lobster was my favorite... quite the combination.

Also, I stumbled onto an unfamiliar wine: Weingut Alfred Merkelbach Urziger Wurzgarten Riesling Spatlese

Typically, I'll stick to the dry, robust reds, but last night I ordered a flight of three of their featured Rieslings. I found the other two rather mundane, but the Merkelbach was memorable and paired nicely with a few of the courses. It had a rather unique tire rubber aroma that was reminiscent of walking into a tire dealer, but in a good way. Really the unexpected flavor goes over better than I'm probably making it sound.

Anyone else come across this one?
