Upon seeking outside counsel, I've come to the conclusion that the expressed threat of litigation makes it necessary to take the thread out of sight.
I don't like this - my instincts as a journalist are to pry stuff out even (or especially) when lawyers don't want me to.
But in fairness, with friends on both sides here, I'd best not put the forum in a position of messing things up.
