Family coming in from Columbus and mentioned going to Mayan Cafe. Other than the lima beans, what is good?

I haven't personally been able to make it yet, Michele, but my friend got there just this past weekend and told me of the dishes he had. According to him, the Tuna Ceviche is quite good and goes well with mixed drinks (he's a gin & tonic type of guy and his fiancee is a mojito lady). For their entree's she had the Sea Bass and he had the Rabbit, and again according to him they're both delicious. He did say the plantains on both platters were just slightly overcooked, but still good. He didn't mention dessert or any dessert drinks, so I can't comment on those.

By the looks of the place, it seems to have a nice atmosphere and a clean/friendly environment. I hope you and your family enjoy your trip!

The Cochinita Pibil, which is a pulled pork dish, is completely amazing. The Mayan is one of my favorite restaurants in town, and my girlfriend gets the CP every time -- and it's always great.

The salmon is delicious and the duck is wonderful.
Honestly, I've never had a bad meal at Mayan.

We send our B&B guests to the Mayan ALL the time and have for years. We always get rave reviews back. Anything you order will be excellent.

Well, we ended up at Kingfish instead because of the late lunch time, but I think I'll go over today for lunch anyway. Everything sounds yummy!
