by Ken B » Tue Jul 17, 2012 8:12 am

Posted this in all about Louisville, but might get more traffic here. If you are like the rest of us and swimming in zucchini right now, or other produce, consider donating it here:

Thanks for posting, Ken.

No- unfortunately my garden has been dessimated by the heat, thirsty squirrels and lack of attention. And even in the best years, for some reason I can't grow squash- the one thing everyone else always has too much of.

We have a fresh basil surplus, but our tomatoes and peppers are struggling.

Anyone looking to get rid of unwanted zucs is more than welcome to let me know!

Ken, for some reason your link is taking me to MY events page, not yours, and I can't see an event that appears to be what you're telling us about. Could you share that information in some other way, maybe copy and paste the "about" section on their Facebook event page?

We decided on trying our first community garden spot this year since we have 2 dogs in our yard.Alas not a good year to try. The heat has pretty much done in our peppers and tomatoes , we did manage to get a few green chilis but they had a very mild flavor so needed to mature longer. We have decided with what we have spent our corn is down to about 20 dollars an ear.

Yeah, the heat has kind of kept my garden less bountiful, but some of my wive's coworkers seem to have had no problem. They're probably watering more than I am.

Anyway, here's the info:

St. Francis of Assisi MINI-FARMER's MARKET and COMMON GOOD GLEANING PROJECT

WHY: The vegetables and food are healthy and delicious! Participation in the market and/or in the Gleaning Project allows us all to extend our energies towards social justice.
