Pink Baron BBQ

by Bert Baker » Mon Jul 16, 2012 3:45 pm

If the moderator will allow, I would like to shamelessly plug my humble BBQ operation, Pink Baron BBQ located just across the river in Jeffersonville, IN on W. Court ave. just east of the I-65 overpass. We have been open for two months and the bridge repair work has slowed us down considerably, so I am asking for support from you foodies. We smoke all our own meats and make our own sides, and have more to offer than BBQ (even though the BBQ is pretty darn good!). See our menu at http://db.tt/19h6RNli

Bert, I think we can give you a pass for one Proud Poppa brag as long as you don't start doing it regularly.

Can you give us a link to the menu, though? All you have to do is include it in your post, the URL button isn't really necessary unless you want to make an embedded link, which isn't really necessary.

Also, you've got to tell us about the name! Like the Red Baron, but not as intense?

Meet “The Pink Baron”
The Baron is the company’s mascot who embodies all that is cool. He is suave, debonair, courteous and charming. He is funny, adventurous, courageous and kind. He is generous, outspoken, educated and keen. He is clever, vivacious, agile and witty. He helps the needy, is a proliferator of happiness, inspires the young and empowers the old. He fluently speaks every language. Every community where the Pink Baron goes becomes better for it.
EVERYONE loves The Pink Baron!

Dan, wondered if you already knew this was a food truck parked in the liquour store parking lot across from the Thorntons? I went by on Saturday intending to eat there. I didn't realize it was a food truck (not that there's anything wrong with that!) but I didn't want to eat in my car or at one of the picnic tables in the sun.

Also, there were no provocatively clothed women cavorting about the premises.....and the Redsox lost again. Is it any wonder I drink? Cheers Dan!
I'm a bitter drinker....I just prefer it that way

We saw the rig already while attempting to get across the bridge too far.

Got a full slab of pork ribs to go. Cost $28.50 which I thought was a tad high (that's about 23 Euros) but I'm not local and it takes me awhile to figure out how much stuff costs around here.

Ribs were excellent with a decent bit of fire in the rub. Took some finishing sauce with us (the house sauce is Carolina style) but in the end we didn't really use it as the ribs were delicious on their own. Didn't bother with sides as we had fresh farm veggies at home already. The trailor is located literally 100 feet from the Court Ave exit from the Kennedy Bridge.. It's pink so you can't miss it.

Sounds like Court Ave. BBQ wars. Smokin' Cowboy works that same corner.

Oh, and a quote for some to chew on: "We're from Louisville but we set up over here because the regulations are a Hell of a lot less complicated".

The Louisville regs are now quite simple. The Health Dept stuff is complex, but the Metro stuff is a breeze.

Dan B. - Thanks for the kind words. It was a pleasure to meet you. I hope Frankfurt gets a BBQ joint so you don't have to travel so far.

And "His charm can be seen from space". Sounds like "The World's Most Interesting Baron"
"I dined at my favorite restaurant last night. It was like Heaven, only better. They let me in".
