In Stockholm go to: http://www.tripadvisor.com/Restaurant_R ... kholm.html

Get the reindeer. Its amazing.

I ate at a mediocre italian joint in Copenhagen... it was mediocre.

Fem Sma Hus is in Old Town, which is an awesome place to walk around.... it's built into a cellar, and seems to only serve authentic Swedish food. Everyone enjoyed their meals, I enjoyed the reindeer especially.

The restaurant Noma in Copenhagen has won Restaurant magazine's award for Best Restaurant (in the world) three years in a row since 2010. It took El Bulli's place on that list.

Let us know if you score a reservation :)

I've been in Copenhagen perhaps a dozen times since 1985, and always return for lunch to Nyhavns Færgekro, by the old harbor, for the herring buffet. All ages convene to enjoy a dozen or so herring preparations -- pickled, smoked, whatever.

We ended up in a great Greek restaurant (not exactly local food). It wasn't open yet, but the owner saw the 6 of us peering through the window, unlocked the door and insisted we come right in. He cooked us a wonderful meal and gave the bravest among us a drink of ouzo. We were the only people there and felt like we had been invited into his home. It was a special, memorable experience for all of us. (thinking someone near and dear to your heart would NOT be interested in Greek food, however)

figure a base price of about $250/person, *IF* you can get in to NOMA.
*BUT*, if you *do* go there, you've got to write us a moment-by-moment, bite-by-bite, sip-by-sip review upon your return! (as it's not likely that any of the rest of us will ever get the chance!)
