Let's hope the heat breaks before then. Imagine wandering Yew Dell in formal attire in 103 degrees heat.

Well, in fairness it said "business/cocktail casual attire," not "formal," but I take your point.

You are correct Robin. And I should not have been so ...ummmm... pessimistic in my post. Yew Dell is a very nifty place to vist. The re-designed barn by DeLeon and Primmer is well worth a trip to see regardless of what you have to wear to see it! it sounds like an awesome event.

Just wanted to let everyone know that my wife and I will be at this event. Both of my parents are founding members of the club, and have taken a turn as president.

For those who are interested, I helped them create a site that accepts payments via paypal so you can purchase your tickets online and ahead of time ( they will be limiting the number of tickets available at the door. ) So buy early and buy often :)

Hope to see several of you'll there! The 10 day forecast has us trending towards lower temps, and the participating spirits sound awesome.

To those not familiar with Yew Dell- they have truly beautiful indoor as well as outdoor entertaining spaces ( including the barn mentioned previously). Scott- can you confirm if the event itself is indoors?

Thanks,
Deb

Deb,

I think the event is primarily outdoors so people can see the gardens, etc -- but the barn, etc is being used as well, so there will be some indoor space to escape the heat. The 10 day forecast continues to show improvement for that day though. A high of 86 and a low of 69!
