Sala Thai replaces True Thai in Fern Creek

Sala Thai was formerly in Stoneybrook and then downtown on Main St. After a couple year hiatus they recently replaced True Thai in Glenmary Plaza on Bardstown Rd. I was somewhat a regular at True Thai over the past 3 yrs or so. It was fine for its 2 minute location from my house but not really a destination restaurant. True Thai had originally replaced a Chinese carryout and seemed to continue in that image. Sala Thai is breaking that mold I believe. The colors of the tables and walls are darker and they removed the picture sign that hung behind the counter. My wife and I had lunch there and could feel the difference. She had pad thai and I had pad sieuw. They were both good. I welcome the change and hope anyone who had been there before will be pleased with the change as well.

I was driving down Bardstown Road the other day and saw Sala Thai. I loved it in Stoneybrook. Anyone try it recently? Is it the same owners?
