The Economist discusses Beer...

by Doug W » Tue Jun 12, 2012 11:44 am

The latest Money Talks audio piece on The Economist's website discusses Brewing Beer in the US (and also Spain and Bank Robbing). It's an interesting piece that covers some history as well as growth of craft brewing. They give Jimmy Carter credit for kicking off craft brewing back in 1979.

I can't figure out how to provide a direct link to the Money Talks portion, but it is easily found on their homepage:

Doug, that link will be fine as long as the Money Talks piece on beer (and Spain, etc.) remains on the front page. For future reference, though, here's a direct link to it. (It wasn't easy to get - I did a search on Money Talks and followed those bread crumbs to the page it's actually on. 8) )

Carter signed the law legalizing homebrewing, which is where most of the early (and current, for that matter) craft brewers got their start. It was credit well earned.
