Can anyone explain this:

Hot hood

East Market Street

"Nicknamed Willie Street, this area is Madison’s answer to Brooklyn’s hip Williamsburg. The street’s long row of restaurants and cafés offers infinite gazing just a few blocks west of Lake Monona.

Dubbed NuLu, this new retail district is bursting with adorable shops, bakeries, markets, and high-concept restaurants serving great drinks. Spend an hour—or an entire afternoon."

Madison, Wisconsin?

Why doesn't anyone ever mention the Frasier History Museum? I think that's one of the most interesting around, and certainly unique to Louisville. Their PR firm should be fired.

It's cool if you like antique guns. They do have some interesting temporary exhibits from time to time. Otherwise, it's mostly old fire arms. For the Charlton Heston quoting, NRA gun nut out there, it is Nirvana.
I got a little tired of looking at them on my one and only vist there as a patron. 8)

I have to disagree with you on this one...the Frazier is much more than a bunch of old guns. Yeah there are plenty of guns but they have armor that was hand carved from like the 12th century beautiful stuff. Right now there is a Samuri exhibit going on that my Son and Husband loved. There is alot of American and British history to be found as well. I encourage anyone to at least make one visit ,take some time, look around, plus kids are free all summer.
Oh and yes we do have a membership that will be renewed end of next month. :)

Little known fact- when I was a consultant, I wrote the original business plan ( When it was named the Frazier Historical Arms Museum ). I recommended that they needed a different name to appeal to a wider demographic ( which was done several years later) and that their core attendance would largely reflect what Dan said above ( not the 250,000 visitors the Science Center/ Slugger get every year) . There was not a meeting of minds at the time.

They have over the years become focused on appealing to a much broader draw and do a great job. As Bev points out there is a huge amount of history there. Well worth a trip even for this " non-gun buff".

I'm not saying it's a bad place to go. As a history buff I found most of it quite interesting.
It's just that the number of firearm displays as opposed to the other historical ones is probably 3 to 1.
They do a nice job of writing everything on display places in history. It just that around every corner it was like "Look, more guns!" I'm not anti gun by any means it just that there are a LOT of them there. I was however fascinated with the Kentucky photograpy exhibit they had on temporary display when I was there.
