by Joan J » Sat Jun 02, 2012 9:50 am

Hi All, rephrasing an earlier query originally titled Tumbleweeds. Seeking next Friday night reco for 10-12 young teens and parents who are attending a diving meet.

What do we think about:
Marks Feed Store Bardstown Road
Papalino's by Uof L
Lynn's
Cafe Lou Lou Douglas Loop
Cafe Amici

You certainly covered the gambit with that selection! Between those five I would probably choose Papalino's but that's just my opinion. Marks is decent barbecue but I've never liked that store. Lynn's is certainly a fun experience with good food (I think their breakfast is the best meal they serve) but most of the food is very filling. Cafe Lou Lou tends to become more of a bar crowd in the evening and I've never been to Cafe Amici.

I have, several times, and like it very much. The menu would be good for this group, with something to appeal to both generations. Good, reasonably priced food. My only concerns would be whether there would be sufficient tables for a group this large on a Friday night, and whether parking could be a problem if each kid averages 1.5 parents and you'll be in more than 3 or 4 vehicles.
My memory's not as sharp as it used to be.

Not Lynn's.

If I were a parent traveling for a swim meet, I'd be surprised at what I got at Lynn's for the price. If these are parents not operating on a travel budget, then Lynn's would probably be an enjoyable experience.

I'd send 'em up to Cardinal Boulevard and let them choose from there. When I traveled for sports (which was not all that often), I was too tired to be that picky about food.
Thinks the frosty mug is the low point in American history.
