Lemon Meringue Pie

by Mike D » Thu Apr 26, 2012 2:25 pm

We have a family birthday this weekend and the "birthday boy" wants lemon meringue pie. Any recommendations? We'll want a whole pie that we can eat at home.

Pie Kitchen does a pretty good one. They usually have a few on hand at the stores, but call ahead to have one held just in case.

Thornberry's in South Louisville is also famous for its pies. It's at 5103 S. Third St., and if you play your cards right, you could tie in a trip with lunch at Vietnam Kitchen or Cafe Annie and a shopping trip to the international Valu Market. 8)

We would be happy to make you one at Sweet Surrender, I actually have a Lemon Meringue Tart (same ingredients, different shape) available by the slice now, if you want to try it out before you order one...

Jessica, your pie got rave reviews last night. "Birthday Boy" sends his thanks.
