Derby Season Excuses :)

by Shawn Vest » Thu Apr 26, 2012 12:10 am

Louisville's favorite holiday season has officially begun in earnest this year and with it comes the host of faux deaths in the family, mysterious car troubles, and a myriad of other wonderfully contrived falsehoods all designed with the premeditated intent of skipping work for Oaks or Derby.

What are the best/worst excuses you've heard for dodging work during Derby?

We could all use a laugh this time of year.

I've heard a lot of them over the years, but I think my two favorites are this creative approach " I got bit by a rabid squirell" and the brutally honest " I can't come in, You'll fire me because I'm still drunk from last night".
