Good Looking Gyros!

by RonnieD » Wed Apr 25, 2012 8:26 pm

I realize that this is shameless plug for AJ's Gyros, but with so many "product doesn't match the ad" disappointments out there, it is nice to see something that looks as good or better than it might in an advertisement.

I stopped in yesterday for a Giant Gyro and it not only looked amazing, but tasted amazing as well!

I love it when food surpasses expectations!

This is from an old review, I hope the number is still correct.

Be advised, if you use your iPhone to locate it, it is still listed as AJ's Coffee and Cream on the map. It also lists AJ's Gyro Cafe, but that's not it.

That is because I am the best kept secret in Southern Indiana hahah. Well, 41,533 sold and counting. Had an Irish guy and his wife here for lunch the other day. They bring horses up from Florida and take hay back. They are coming for lunch next Friday and bringing their five kids this time. Quite a long trip for lunch, but we're worth it :D

I finally made it and had the lamb/beef gyros. It was quite delicious and well worth the trip! The regular size was filling enough.

I had a hankering for gyro, so we took a ride out a couple of Sundays ago.

They're all that has been said so far. I had them hold the lettuce, a gyro accoutrement that doesn't exist in my universe. The pita was fresh, the meat hot and plentiful and the tzatziki very tzatziki-ish.

I'm surprised that nobody has mentioned the fries. They were fresh-cut, crisp and hot.

My husband and I dropped by last Thursday night for gyros. Wonderful as always! Love the fresh salad.

Michele and I are sure the Gyros are great at AJ's but I think we just had the best in the world in Fira on the island of Santorini, Greece. Washed down with an ice cold Mythos beer!

Love love Santorini, Love love Mythos beer!! The gyros you had was pork. It amuses me when people confidently stride up to the counter and ask for "an authentic lamb jiro" Sometimes I tell them that they actually use pork in Greece and sometimes I just let them be> :? I hope on your return you pay me a visit and try mine.
