Mother's Day dinners/buffets/events: Post them here!

I don't have any yet, but it's probably not too soon to pin this topic. Restaurateurs, chefs, owners, fans, need no further permission to post Mother's Day events here, but as always, please "just the facts" without PR hype. Try to avoid words like "unique" and "awesome."

The Brown Hotel will offer brunch in both J. Graham’s Café and The English Grill on Mother’s Day, Sunday, May 13. To make a reservation at The English Grill, call 736-2998, and for J. Graham’s, call 583-1234, extension 7225.

J. Graham’s Café plans a casual brunch buffet including a variety of entrée selections, seasonal salads, fruits and side dishes, a waffle and omelet station and desserts. It’s $40 per person; $19 for children ages 4-12; and free for children under four. Tax and tip are additional. Seating is available at 11:30 and 11:45 a.m. and 1:15 and 1:30 p.m.

The English Grill plans a more formal Mother’s Day brunch, with reservations available at noon, 12:30 p.m. and 1 p.m. Brunch will begin with an appetizer buffet in the hotel lobby. Then, in the English Grill, there’ll be a plated entrée choice of filet mignon, lemon-crusted halibut or chicken stuffed with roasted lobster. Desserts will include peach crumble and hazelnut opera cake. The price is $56 per person, not including tax and tip.

Varanese, 2106 Frankfort Ave., will be open from 1 p.m. - 11 p.m. on Mother’s Day, Sunday, May 13. In addition to these Mother's Day specials, the regular menu will be available as well, with vegetarian and vegan options available. For reservations call 899-9904.

Selena's at Willow Lake Tavern will be offering a Brunch Buffet for Mother's Day. The cost will be $18.95 per person with kids under 10 pricing at $9.95. We will be doing 3 seatings at 10:30, 12:00 and 2:00. We are getting a great response so please don't hesitate to call for your reservations. (502) 245-9004.
