U of L, UK, Final Four: Where do you plan to watch it?

by Robin Garr » Mon Mar 26, 2012 9:48 am

This is going to be one of those weekends where the entire region - sparing only a few outliers - will be watching the same thing next Saturday night.

But the question is, where? Home? Party at a friend's place? Bar, restaurant, other? I've put together a little poll, but especially if you're hoping to join the crowd at a local watering hole or eatery, post the location, and let's see where the most popular places are going to be.

I will be working as many others that read this online will be as well. (I mean , since it is a Saturday and many posters here work in the restaurant biz.)

Good point, but a lot of people in the biz will be working and watching, I'll bet!

Oh hell yes I'll be watching! I'll just line all the little kiddos up in front of the tv and tell them when to cheer.

Other: I won't be watching. A wise man refers to NCAA BB as this:
pretend-amateur, NBA developmental league

I agree. The amount of nasty smack-talk is disgusting.

Get off my lawn.

This poll is statistically flawed .... /sarcasm

I don't know if I will watch or not. But it will either be at a friend's house or online if I do. Might even just listen to the radio broadcast, which I tend to enjoy more than than television people.

Definitely not going out in public for this one.

@ Justin:

As humor would have it, we saw this coming and Bobby and Michael have the night off. They have another gig, too. One must plan for the inevitabilities!

I'm debating closing for the night. Not sure that anyone will be dinning out on this night.

Likely not at all, unless we end up with an invite to a party. ( you can commence throwing things now  )
Although, I may check if Guaca-mole has TV's- rumor has it they may be open on Saturday. (Yeah!)

Other: Hope to be in a sports bar somewhere in Buenos Aires. Wife and I leave on a Friday evening red eye to visit our daughter who is studying abroad for the semester.

My college daughter said the only Kentuckians who don't care about the game are Humanities majors.

What is an upperclassman basketball player at KY? A sophomore

We are a house divided and both alumni. Since we love and respect each other. we don't trash talk, and it's too painful to watch together. I will stay home and you'll hear my husband at a bar. Either way, we'll pull for the state team in the final!

Unless you have a big screen TV. Yeah, my guess is many restaurants will be closing.

JCPS is even giving students the day off! ;-)

I will be either going to my Mamaw and Papaw's house or my parents' house to cheer on Big Blue! I normally don't watch much basketball, but considering how exciting the games were last year and this year, I will be watching this game. I wanted to watch UK play IU, but my TV unfortunately bit the dust (I think)- I got sound and occasionally a bit of picture, but mainly static. It's over 10 years old anyway... And by the time I tried to get the TV working, the game was nearly over so I didn't care to spend the $4 online at that point.
