Shoney's at Eastern & Preston

. . . is closed. I'd noticed few cars in the parking lot recently.

I'm looking for Havana Rumba III.

Doesn't surprise me one bit! That place was NASTY!!! Hopefully it will be a good place like Havana Rumba. That area needs some good restaurants!

My first job in high school was bussing tables at Danner's (Shoney's under another name). Back in the day, Shoney's regularly had a waiting line for dinner on Friday nights. I drive by the Eastern Parkway Shoney's on my way home from U of L, and I rarely saw more than 3 or 4 cars in the parking lot any night of the week.

The parking lot of the one on Fern Valley is pretty much always empty too unless there is something big going on at one of the motels right there. I can't say what it is like on the inside of that one as it has been years since I have stepped foot in there. Strange thing is we eat at the Frisches, right across the driveway, on a some what regular basis it is always busy, but it is also very clean, service is good even when it is busy .

I've visited that particular Shoney's occasionally over the years (usually for lunch), but it has been battling quality issues for awhile...looks as though they finally lost; however, when they were good they were...well, not bad.

Beats me. I think all the "El" and "Los" places have the same menu and taste the same. When we want fast Mexican we go to Senor Iguanas.

I have to agree with you Leah seems like most have a tendancy to blur to me...our pick has been lately Pina Fiesta over on Dixie and eat off the Mexican Grlled part of the menu...the grilled fish tacos are really good.

I'm happy with mediocre Mexican replacing awful faux diner.
