Welcome to the Louisville Restaurants Forum, a civil place for the intelligent discussion of the local restaurant scene and just about any other topic related to food and drink in and around Louisville.
My first job in high school was bussing tables at Danner's (Shoney's under another name). Back in the day, Shoney's regularly had a waiting line for dinner on Friday nights. I drive by the Eastern Parkway Shoney's on my way home from U of L, and I rarely saw more than 3 or 4 cars in the parking lot any night of the week.
The parking lot of the one on Fern Valley is pretty much always empty too unless there is something big going on at one of the motels right there. I can't say what it is like on the inside of that one as it has been years since I have stepped foot in there. Strange thing is we eat at the Frisches, right across the driveway, on a some what regular basis it is always busy, but it is also very clean, service is good even when it is busy .
I've visited that particular Shoney's occasionally over the years (usually for lunch), but it has been battling quality issues for awhile...looks as though they finally lost; however, when they were good they were...well, not bad.

I have to agree with you Leah seems like most have a tendancy to blur to me...our pick has been lately Pina Fiesta over on Dixie and eat off the Mexican Grlled part of the menu...the grilled fish tacos are really good.
