Traveling Kitchen food truck

by Jeff Cavanaugh » Fri Mar 16, 2012 12:57 pm

A new food truck called Traveling Kitchen is parked outside my office at 5th & Main today, so I got a chance to try it. He sells three different kinds of tacos made with Korean meats - bulgogi (beef), spicy pork (jeyuk bokkeum, I think), and teriyaki chicken. I got a one-of-each combo for $6, and it was delicious! Each had a little of what I think was an onion kimchi on it, along with tomatoes and peppers and some rice in the bottom. They were just spicy enough to be pleasant. He also had a "Korean Quesadilla" on the menu, which I didn't try.

I think he's been parked down near the Brook & Washington area several days in the last couple weeks, and he said he planned on returning to the 5th & Market area next week, so that may be a regular stop as well.

The truck has both Twitter and Facebook logos on it, but I haven't yet been able to find his account on either one.

Went down and talked to Victor some more. His FB page is under construction. Twitter handle is @travelingkitche (no N) - Robin, you want to add it to your food-truck list?

He plans to be around 5th & Market on Wednesdays and Fridays.

Had a taco trio from Traveling Kitchen today - highly recommended! beef bulgogi, teriyaki chicken and spicy pork soft tacos with kimchi, tomatoes, rice, cilantro, sriracha and fresh lime wedges. $7 for three. John and I both loved them.

They are also tracking them on Louisville Street Food.

Dang! I want to, but I can't remember HOW to! I don't Tweet much ... I can find my way to Edit List, but that's just a public or private setting. :(

Go to their profile page, and click the little head-silhouette button next to the Follow/Following button at top right. Select "Add or Remove from lists" and check the appropriate box.

While we're at it, you might make sure you have these Louisville truck accounts in your list:

Thanks again, Jeff. For some reason I've never embraced Twitter like other social media, and I tend to overlook it. You gave me the needed kick in the butt to do some needed house cleaning, and the Louisville Food Trucks Twitter feed is now all tuned up.
