Whatever next?

I got a call at 3am this morning from ADT saying that there had been an interruption to my alarm. They said the power had probably gone out. I phoned Duke at 11am and they said the power would be restored by 2:30pm. When Duke came out they discovered that somebody had stolen my entire electric meter, and the copper wire attached to it. They even went used my ladder which was behind the storage shed and left it propped up against the wal!

Apparently, they have been doing the same in Clark County and have now moved onto Floyd. Can you believe the audacity of them!

Duke replaced my meter and restored power by 12:15pm pretty quick response if you ask me. I just hope whoever the thief was got an electric shock and fell off the ladder!

Allison, I hope you have a cage around your A/C unit. They'll be stealing that next! They'll do thousands of dollars worth of damage to a commercial air conditioner unit to get $100 worth of copper.

Did you hear about the guy from New Jersey they arrested just this week in Henryville stealing copper out of houses demolished in the tornadoes? Who drives from NJ to IN to steal copper? That's insane! He claimed he was collecting it to make sure nobody else stole it.
