Sushi in the City 2012 Tonight

by Ryan Rogers » Wed Mar 07, 2012 1:05 pm

Just wanted to make sure everyone got the heads up that tonight from 6-8:30pm at the Henry Clay Building in Louisville is the Annual (4th?) Sushi in The City event benefiting the Family Scholar House which helps to provide the tools and support single-parent students need to finish their degrees and hopefully end the cycle of poverty.

It has always been a great event in the past and Feast BBQ is happy to be participating this year by offering Korean BBQ Sliders topped with Pickled Carrots, Kimchi, and Green Onions.

Here's the copy from the website:
"Sushi lovers will be excited to hear that it's time again for Sushi in the City. This Annual Family Scholar House event will bring Louisville's best sushi chefs together. This year Sushi in the City will also introduce a new Asian Flair that we're sure you'll enjoy!

Make your reservations by phone or online prior to the event for $50 or at the door for $60.
For more information or reservations, please contact Erin McCoy at 502.813.3085."

You should also come because I've made a lot of delicious Korean BBQ chicken that needs to get eaten.

Thanks for the heads up. I saw no promotion for this event this year. With more notice I might have been able to swing it.

Seconded. I feel like I usually see a ton of press about this in advance, but nothing this year. It's too late of notice for me, but I hope it's well attended.

It's run by well-intended folks who don't have a lot of media savvy. They decided not to have judging this year because in the past some of the participating restaurants have been opposed to that (due to losing, I assume  ), so when they stopped inviting media judges, they apparently also forgot to send out media notices. In the past, HotBytes has always comped them to a substantial pro bono ad package and I've posted advance notices here and in LEO and the Voice. This year I learned about it this week, too late to help.

I have a feeling they'll do a better job next year. :( Meanwhile, do support it. Go. It's good sushi for a good cause.
