Charlestown Rd Five Guys Closed

Drove down Charlestown Rd today and noticed Five Guys was gone. Blackened windows and signs gone.

Went to Meijer earlier...yep, definitely closed...very weird. They were usually pretty busy so I don't get it.

Bummer. Hope that doesn't bode ill for the other two in the area. If it was as busy as Kari says, perhaps it's just a landlord problem or something.

I stopped in with my kids the day before it closed. They did not give any reasons, but did give us a $5 gift card to their other location on State St in New Albany.

I always wondered why they put two so geographically close together. That being said, both seemed fairly busy every time I would go by them, but sometimes with a business, you just never know what shape they truly are in.

Expansive growth is a risky game with no guarantees. It is very indicative of a multiple unit concept at their stage of development. You almost always see outbursts of growth followed by a short contraction.

It's the bridges fault  In all reality, there is so much competition within that corridor that I can't believe more restaurants haven't closed down. There must be 50+ restaurants within 2-3 miles.
