I decided to try something I never had before: the Skirt Steak with Chimichurri. I'd seen it raved about on HotBytes, but I'm usually not in the mood for beef while visiting Seviche, leaving Palermo Veijo to fill that niche.
It was very, very good! The chimichurri sauce was loaded with cilantro and spicy goodness, probably the best I'd ever tasted. The meat was tender and cooked to perfection.
Also, the mussels appetizer seemed to have a new broth. It was still nice and spicy, but the lemon grass was much more subtle. I liked it much better than the old recipe.
So, Seviche is still hitting it out of the park!
With so many great restaurants, we often go far too long in between visits to Seviche, one of our favorites.
We went this past Saturday and, as usual, everything was outstanding and everyone in my party loved everything, besides some sort of cilantro gelee (sp?) that came with my mom's salad. I'm sure it was good, but perhaps we are too unrefined to appreciate it...but a miniscule complaint, definitely more do to preference than execution.
The standouts were the seviches. I had almost forgotten how good they were. The crab and tuna were outstanding and that night's special lobster tail was on point as well. I also enjoyed a lobster bisque with some pepper heat at the end, which was unlike any seafood bisque I'd ever had before, but delicious.
Like Steve above me, I usually think seafood when going to seviche, but was also tempted by the churascos I saw on another diner's plate. I have had this dish before, and was pleased again. Also of note were my father's smoked chicken and mushroom enchilladas. That is a dish I had never sampled before, and thought was quite good.
