Mardi Gras at Joe's OK Bayou

by Robin Garr » Thu Feb 16, 2012 10:58 am

From Joe Wheatley:

Our 18th Annual Mardi Gras Party here at Joe's runs from Feb. 17-Feb 21 (Fat Tuesday) this year. Each night will feature live music, Abita beer and hurricane drink specials, plenty of beads, and king cake (with the baby inside) for dessert!

On Friday, Saturday and Fat Tuesday nights, we will have some very good magicians doing some walk-around magic (not the cheezy kind either). It's always a good time and very kid friendly except in the bar area on tuesday night!

Also, we are trying to encourage people to order ahead for their own parties...they just need to call and get a quote ahead of time and make sure we save them some food if it's last minute!

King cakes

by Richard S. » Thu Feb 16, 2012 12:35 pm

If you're looking for a good king cake, Nord's Bakery makes one that's as good or better than any I ever had in New Orleans.

All Louisville area (including Corydon IN) J. Gumbo's will be doing $12.95 All You Can Eat All Day on Mardi Gras day with free beads (no obligation, but you know, if you are feeling frisky...). We will feature mini-King Cake danishes from Adrienne and Co. and lots of great beer specials at the locations that serve including $2.50 Abita beers! (Corydon IN has a killer beer selection!)
