Any interesting diners out Dixie?

by Robin Garr » Sun Feb 05, 2012 8:39 am

I know I don't get out to the Southwest as often as I should, but I have to head out that way this morning on a non-food-related assignment, and while I'm in the neighborhood I'd love to check out something interesting and non-chain.

I've heard of Jessie's, but also have seen reports that it has slipped in recent years. And I see something at Dixie and St. Andrews Church called Frontier Diner, but I can't tell if it's local or franchise.

Any of you folks out that way or familiar with the neighborhood have suggestions for Sunday lunch or brunch?

Well, I have not eaten at this place, but my parents like Christys. I don't know the address, but it is in the 12 or 13 hundred block. I have not eaten there, so cant give a personal recommendation! My folks describe it as 'just basic home cooked food'.

I know I am kind of late with this I don't know where you wound up eating....I havent eaten at Jessies in probably 6 months but it was fine then a lot of good home cooked food at cheap prices. Really good biscuits and gravy if I remember correctly. My family that lives in Valley Station eats at Christy's quite a bit but I have yet to go there , they love the burgers.
