What style of restaurant does this town need?

by Mark Head » Tue Jan 24, 2012 8:53 pm

I hear we are getting a French bistro at the old 732 and that is something this town needs - what else? I say North African - can you get a good tajine in this town? A Brazilian steak house maybe?

How about a Patagonian style restaurant? With all the Argentine meat specialties?

I do agree with Gayle however that a Greek restaurant would also be good.

A place like this

http://thegreenhousetavern.com/

It might be my favorite restaurant to date. It had everything; great food, booze, service, location and atmosphere.

I'd second the North African.

Ehhh.....No offense Steve but I think that maybe the last thing Louisville needs...unless it's executed to a tee (meaning not only good beer but good food (I've yet to have "return worthy" food at a Brew Pub in Lou.....but am still looking!))

I agree with some of the other postings, I could go for some Greek/Turkish in that area..... but I have one request.... it must have a visible meat spit.... preferably vertical with lamb on it :D

Thirded or fourthed or whatever on the Greek. Something like this would be nice:

Standard Greek places can be kind of nasty (like strip-mall Chinese places), but a really good, unique one would be fantastic!

I also want a fine-dining Indian restaurant.
