I think they are deserving, and they typify the kind of "conservative" fine dining that AAA is most likely to honor with a top rating. Places like Seviche or 610 are more likely to upset Memaw and Papaw whilst traveling, and that's why they're less likely to make the cut.
Looks like The Oakroom at The Seelbach has maintained their 5 diamond rating as well, making them still the only 5-Diamond restaurant in Kentucky. I believe that's at least the 3rd 5-diamond award for Chef Bobby Benjamin, congratulations Chef!

This is not an easy list to make. I have seen first hand what criteria the AAA inspectors use when they are judging. While I agree they are somewhat conservative in the style of cuisine (think more continential, not ethnic) gets a four or five star rating, I feel they explain the differences quite well how, by their criteria, what sets a three star apart from a four or five star. A five star dining rating is really something to be proud of. If I remember correctly, there are only about 40 total in the whole country. My hats off to Chef Bobby and the whole Oakroom staff!
I think Robin hit it on the nose with his label of "conservative" fine dining. Something there for everybody, not too edgy. Excellent food at the three I have dined at and I hope to visit Corbett's my next trip home.
