garage on market needs a tuneup

by Cynthia L » Thu Jan 19, 2012 6:11 pm

A group of 6 dined there recently. I had made a reserve on Urbanspoon they did not find, but no problem as it was quite early in the evening.
Our server was good , most of the food was not.
The local lettuce in the salad was tough.
Hominy soup special had undercooked hominy that was not eaten.
The house pickles tasted solely like vinegar.
The rolled oysters & oysters on the half shell were awesome !
The pizza was tasty enough but rather "doughy."
Finally the pasta special was flavorful but overpriced for what was served.

Catchy title but I disagree with the diagnosis.

I dined there two weeks ago and had many of the items you listed and everything was excellent.

Cynthia,

I also agree that some of Garage Bar's menu item's could use a "tune up." Having been there several times I've experienced doughy yet charred pizza, and lack luster (under seasoned) gnocchi. I will say however that I've never had poor service there and one of the best things on the menu are the Turkey Wings (confit wing/leg, tangy sauce, with a little bit of kick).... They are delicious....and keep me coming back! If you make another trip you should try them.....unless of course you are vegetarian/pescetarian.

Ha Thanks Deb!

I was so tired of having so many opinions, and only retaining "lurker-status"......

How many posts does it take to get to "foodie-status"......!?!?
