Haven't heard anything about it but it sounds interesting!

Is this the store that was in the old Dietrich's building and recently moved?

He was previously on Frankfort avenue. Nice owner with a good selection of hand picked wine/spirits.

When it was on Frankfort, it was within walking distance of my house, but so was The Wine Rack. To be blunt, there was no comparison. "Taste" appeared to be stocked entirely by wine distributors without much curation by staff, and the price markups seemed high. Nice looking place, friendly people, but I suspect that having Wine Rack and Gemelli offering significantly more interesting selection and knowledgeable staff within fairly close range had to cut into its traffic.

Robin, I agree. I went in there once, soon after he opened on Frankfort. The space did look nice, and the owner seemed knowledgeable, but someone like me, a guy who (a) doesn't know a lot about wine and (b) is lucky enough to be married to a great cook who loves to try new recipes, needs John Johnson at the Wine Rack, or one of his staff, to select the right wine for the evening's dinner. John knows our general likes and dislikes, and of the many recommendations that he has made over the years, only one or two didn't pan out. Another thing about John - he doesn't push the most expensive bottles. More than once I've stopped by after enjoying a new wine at a restaurant or friend's home and John has suggested a less-expensive alternative. That says a lot about him.

You guys need to check out Taste's new location in NuLu, between Wiltshire and Tim Faulkner's. The place is fantastic! I've found the prices to be reasonable, and Paul knows his wine. The wines he carries are carefully selected, at a variety of price points. There is a rotating menu of wines to taste, or try a glass. There is also an excellent selection of bourbons to taste for $5. And now Taste has Happy Hour on Thursday and Friday, 5-7, and the wines and bourbons are half price (not the bottles, though)

I love the place and try to get down at least once a week. I've been able to try some fantastic wines and bourbons, I highly recommend folks to stop in and try it.
