Volare Italian Ristorante presents Gerard Bertrand Wine Dinner with Mark Fine, National Sales Director for Gerard Bertrand, professional magician and comedian.
Wednesday, Jan. 25, reception 6:30 p.m., dinner 7 p.m.
Five courses paired with five wines, $75 plus tax and tip.

Hors d’Oeuvres

Crostini- toast point with burrata, bacon, marinated escarole and caramelized shallot

Quail Leg Mattone- quail leg cooked under a brick served with pear mostarda

Bruschetta- grilled rustic bread with ricotta cheese and a pine nut and currant relish

Wine: Réserve Spéciale Viognier, Gérard Bertrand 2010


Insalate

Insalata di Colpo- “chopped salad”- radicchio, iceberg, genoa salami, garbanzo beans, pepperoncini, red onion, aged provolone, roasted cherry tomatoes, and oregano vinaigrette

Wine: Réserve Spéciale Chardonnay, Gérard Bertrand 2010


Grandi paste

Gnudi alla Anatra- housemade ricotta dumplings, roasted duck, broccoli rabe, and prosciutto in a sundried tomato cream sauce

Agnello Arrostito- braised lamb shank in a sauce of white wine, lamb jus, tomatoes, capers, lemon, and fresh oregano

Torta della Nonna– Traditional Italian “Grandma’s cake” of flakey crust filled with ricotta and pine nuts. Served with roasted pear gelato and blood orange coulis

This is going to be a great dinner! Not only are these award winning wines, Chef Josh's food will be amazing, but Mark Fine is an Advanced Sommelier, Professional Magician, Comedian and 3 time IronMan competitor!!
Can't think of a more interesting speaker!!
