It's very local, Becky. There are four Vint locations and they recently merged with Heine Brothers (several locations, not sure just how many), which have been my favorite coffee houses for years. We have a ton of local coffee houses, and I think that the only chains here are Starbucks. What did you have?!

im a hardcore coffee drinker.... been drinking since i was little too. but i dont drink anything fancy, so i was a bit overwhelmed at the choices. i let her know (forgot to get the owner's name) that i liked something about mid-range, not too strong but definitely not weak. She suggested an Ethiopian blend, i had it with a flavoring of marshmallow something... which i regret. i like the taste of coffee.... lol

i really liked it there... personally, coffeehouses can get a bit cramped for me. but this was very nice. lots of space, plenty of places to sit, and it just felt comfortable.

it was pretty busy and she wasnt able to charge for the flavoring with my coffee and didnt want to run my card for 0.25, so she said i could pay when i was grabbed something else. in all the hubbub, it was busy, i forgot to pay her and feel soooo guilty about it. but... it ensures a return trip!

Aw, you'll be back - don't feel bad! That kind of stuff is come and go in the business. I'm a straight coffee drinker, too - but I will occasionally splurge on a foo foo drink. When I get syrups, I will sometimes go for a caramel or amaretto, used to go for hazelnut. But syrups are tricky, and I have to be in mood for it. I had a blueberry flavored coffee on a road trip a long time ago (not with syrup, the beans were flavored), and I've been on a search for it ever since. I've never seen it ANYWHERE else, and this was in a gas station of all places. I had everyone in the car that I was with take a sip and we all agreed, it was delicious. I've tried to use blueberry syrup and isn't anywhere close. Maybe we were all just already in nirvana from being on the road to vacation.

So which location did you go to?

i think that is why i am iffy with syrups. some can be great while others are just yucky. I know hazelnut is pretty popular but i am not a fan. i have never heard of actual blueberry flavored beans.... how very neat.

i went to the northfield location. i was pretty proud of myself. my gps kept saying that i needed to get on 64, but i remembered brownsboro and exit 22, and i was pretty sure i could do that on 71. it was pretty close and got there easily.

blah.... on the way back though, im chugging along on good ole' trustworthy I65, only to see signs of my impending doom that the ramp is closed. anxiety ensues.... hang up on poor husband who is trying to help. What is this expressway? follow the sheep Becky. oh the yum center, that is close to "the little bridge".... 3rd street exit sounds like a far-away, distant exit i took during another tragic dont-know-where-im-going-in-this-crazy-spaghetti-whatever-these-locals-call-it-area . after a little circle-around found my way home. myself and all ducklings are safe and sound.

I have one of those single cup coffee makers and tried Green Mountain Blueberry coffee. It is not a strong blueberry flavor, just a note, very pleasant. They have ground coffee, as well as, the Keurig K-cups.

Haha! If you were coming straight from Indiana, then you saved a lot of time and miles by taking 71 to 264 west. Wayy quicker. So I'm reading that you made it back. But I've employed a lot of different ways to get across the bridge and I totally get how it all works, finally. If you took the trusty 65 to avoid detours, I've gotta tell you that the detour along 64 east that exits at 3rd street and runs along the river a few blocks to get back on at 8th street heading east, then the ramp to 65 north is really not a bad way to go. Staying on 65 keeps you from stopping at all the lights that you have to stop at if you take the little bridge, and the route is pretty darn expedited thought downtown Louisville. You just follow the signs and end up on Main, then the hwy. I can't wait 'til the bridge is fixed.

Don't worry Jax, I'm sure they'll get that bridge fixed before Thanksgiving. :)

I love Vint but haven't been able to go since November. Yes...there's a reason. I was there one Saturday morning studying for an exam and ordered a large Irish cream latte. It was around 9am and I hadn't had anything to eat. About 30 minutes later I started feeling a little funny...Yes, they'd put actual Irish cream in my latte - not the syrup I thought I was getting. I shoulda been a little more specific. Anyways, I'm afraid to go back because I'm probably now known as the Vint lush.
