The medals went to Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale and Kentucky Weissbier, a single commercial batch of Bill Caldwell's hombrew recipe for a Southern German-style wheat beer brewed for the Pro-Am Competition.
473 breweries and 2793 beers competed at this year's event in Denver, one of the largest juried beer competitions in the world. This was the GABF's 26th year.
If anyone is interested in tasting either beer in the Louisville area, feel free to PM me and I'll be happy to guide you in the right direction. Only 7 kegs of the wheat beer were sent to Louisville, and I'm not sure if we'll ever brew it again.
Cheers (and thanks, Robin, for letting me post this!)
