Selena's New Years Day Brunch

by Terry G » Sun Jan 01, 2012 7:30 pm

Nice crowd and while we had reservations opted to sit at the bar with football from wall to wall. Service was attentive and their food very good. My only quarrel is with the hash brown casserole, and while I recognize that casserole is a wide open term, hash browns are not. They can be cubed or shreadded but fried and not sautéed. it may be that the kitchen was trying to play catch up or that bloody Mary apertif altered my senses. Having said that and in McArthur's words " I shall return", or for those GexErs Schwarzenegger's most quoted line "I'll be back". Had a good time.

Their hashbrown casserole can be hit or miss. Sometimes it would be fairly saucy, other times very dry. But when they get it right, they really get it right! If you didn't try them already, get the beignets next time, they make it worth getting out of your pj's on a sunday morning.
