Who has good calamari (sp?)?////

Where can we get some good calamari in the 'Ville?

Calamari is my wife's favorite adult junk food, and Varanese is her clear-cut favorite.

Calamari? Isn't he the coach of some basketball team in Kentucky?

IMO, Seviche has the best calamari going, but Bonefish and Asiatique also do a good job.

All true ... Volare and Porcini also are known for it.

My favorite in the city is probably Basa. Great sauce, really fresh cucumber and papaya salad, and nice light breading. It is a nice hearty portion size as well. Another great is at La Bodega. They grill whole tubes without the tentacles, and it seems to be just a touch of oil, salt and pepper for seasoning.

O'Shea's calamari is pretty darn good.....light batter and peppery!

Agree with Asiatique and Volare . . . and, if you ask (and the restaurant isn't slammed) oftentimes Volare can do a sauteed or grilled calamari (neither breaded nor fried) that is just perfect.

Blackstone Grille ....... light and crispy. Not rubbery like a lot of places.

I would tend to agree with this point. Simply in another league as compared to the normal fried squid one often encounters.
